The Rucksack Letters

The Rucksack Letters : After being diagnosed with Attention Deficit Disorder at the ripe old age of twenty-nine, Steve McAllister set out to use his restless mind in the best way he knew how. Having lost faith in the fundamentalist evangelical Christian religion of his upbringing, but with a heart firmly devoted to the Source of all things he still knew to be God, he left all that he had and took to the road. Conjuring the spirit of Kerouac, Steve visited twenty-six states in a year and a half, seeking faith, hope, and love through a variety of communities, including a Buddhist monatary, a yoga ashram, hippie communes, Radical Faerie communes, an anarchist compound, a ski resort, a California winery, and pre and post 9-11 New York. Writing his journey as he went, Steve shared his travels with readers through email before coming to the road's end in the City of Angels. David Sedaris meets Jack Kerouac as told by Robert Service, this books marks another great step in the Rucksack Revolution.
