In the midsts of a brutal hurricane season, after seeing an incomprehensible object shoot through the night sky, Steve McAllister receives a strange email stating that his latest book has been picked up for publication. The only problem is that he hasn't written it. Setting out to unearth the mystery of the errant press release, Steve meets two aliens who charge him with a foreboding task - turn the city of Sarasota, Florida into a marketing mecca.
With a handful of guiding principles and a bevy of philosophical ideologies, the two wise-cracking extraterrestrials take Steve on a journey through time and space in order to teach him the finer points of industry and how his communicy can prosper in the new millenium. Filled with humor, wisdom, and intrigue, The McAllister Code is the definitive allegorical journey of one's man's quest to write the world.
After studying film production at Valencia Community College in Orlando, Florida, Steve traveled to Los Angeles, where he worked in various capacities of film production in anticipation of the publication of his book The Rucksack Letters. Returning to Sarasota in 2003, Steve formed Second Thought Productions and has been integral in the Film Town Initiative through the Economic Development Corporation of Sarasota County and the Sarasota Filmmakers Showcase at the Sarasota Film Festival. He is also the director of such films as Attention Deficit Disorder: Life at a Different Pace, Music Meets Special Needs, The Tide from Red to Blue, and Simply Sarasota. Fresh from the September 8 performance of “The Rucksack Cabaret” at the East Village Cabaret, and most recently seen in the Eclectic Theatre Company's production of Got a Minute?, Steve is gearing up for the Spring 2008 release of his next book Artists Must Play CARDS with artist Gale Fulton Ross.
